Across the generations
In Australia, it is reported that one in four households are single-person households.
And while people may be more connected through social media, loneliness is increasing.
While many groups and activities in the community are age- or interest-related, there aren’t always opportunities for people to join together across the generations.
The Southern Mallee Co-Operative Church in Rainbow is creating an opportunity each month for people of all ages to get together and enjoy a time of Intergenerational gathering.
Based around a theme from the Bible, with story, song and creative activities, Come & C-Church offers the chance for young and old to get together.
Being family-friendly, it is a great chance for families to hang out together without pressure, and enjoy a meal, as well as others to join in and share in community.
On September 15, the theme will match that of the art exhibition at Hopetoun Powerhouse, “Let There Be Light,” which is sponsored by the Church.
